On New Year's Day 2008, my honey and I left New York, our family, friends,
jobs, and began a two-year odyssey in search of new landscape to plant roots.

We traveled nomadically through Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, France,
Italy, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, meeting the locals and exploring the possibility of building a life among them.

Along the way, we woke to a rooster’s crow on a farm in the Tuscan hills and shared breakfast with feral kitties at a 13th century Benedictine Monastery.

We hiked a rock amphitheater to a lunch of fondue among curious goats,
and were caught up in an Italian wedding in a 25,000 year-old village perched on a volcanic plateau.
We watched the soaring of swifts give over at dusk to the swooping of bats above the valleys of southern France.
We danced in the dark with a bunch of Andalusian kids to a 45 record of Rod Stewart’s Do You Think I’m Sexy.

Now we've landed in Berlin, having lived to tell the tale and having made a few images along the way.
