We spent the week in New York primarily hosting two parties and trying without luck to find the right sublettor for our apartment. We happened to arrive over our one year wedding anniversary weekend, and I was able to lure Alfonso to the very spot we exchanged vows, Ladies Pavilion of Central Park. (the park being the dark patch to the left of shiny midtown, above) Romantic, no?
Well, sort of. We were extremely tired and it rained, and when Alfonso attempted to close the broken umbrella he was carrying (moments after this photo was made), he sliced his hand open rather dramatically (not seriously, but gushing like the “mere flesh wound” scene from Holy Grail), so we stared deep into each others eyes while applying a band-aid a gal at Starbucks so nicely gave to us.

Frank, scene of our second date (when I got to choose the place) and home to some very fine snacks. The kids are in mirror, right. (click if you don’t believe me!)
Then we had dinner with friends and a few days later we ate one year-old cake made by our lovely friend Margaret Braun. That is both our Los Angeles and New York cake pictured here, we are nothing if not thorough.
