After a looong day of packing in Brooklyn it is supreme to take a last bit of energy to commute to swanky temporary digs in NoHo, around the corner from the once CBGB. Rooftop garden allows me to admire the ubiquitous water towers of the NYC skyline and spy on my firefighter neighbors.

P1060899The city is putting on such a fine show, it’s hard to imagine leaving. Then I think: CBGB is a clothing store now, and it gets a tiny bit easier, not because I was a regular, but because of what this portends.

P1060902Then I think: the owner wanted to physically move CBGB to Vegas, and I realize I don’t want to move to this or that city so much as back to a pre-internet, pre-global, less greedy, more grubby time.

P1060896 Perhaps one day the money machine will eat it’s own tail. Watching things I support or am simply glad exist vanish for blind commerce is a drag. Thinking this makes me feel like an old hippie.

P1060889Then I admire the view and return to my boxes. The kids are losing their minds! Blitzkrieg bop!
