I used to joke–as an archivist of other’s pasts–that my own journals would end up at The Goodwill. Today I discovered my undergrad/grad photography portfolio was lost to–or transformed by–a flood in my rental basement. The negatives are fine, but much of the early alchemy happened in the darkroom. And so, 1990s, adieu!
