I used to joke–as an archivist of other’s pasts–that my own journals would end up at The Goodwill. Today I discovered my undergrad/grad photography portfolio was lost to–or transformed by–a flood in my rental basement. The negatives are fine, but much of the early alchemy happened in the darkroom. And so, 1990s, adieu!

After a lovely lecture, our friend graciously inscribed his book, as just beyond, in Lady Wharton’s garden… the Queen Anne’s Lace blossomed, the jewel beetles got it on (dig that extended leg), and other creatures got up to no good whatsoever…
