~aventures du louchette flâneurse: 6ème~

November 21st, 2009

Today I hemmed and hawed (writing? outing? writing? outing?) and decided to go to the flea marché. That would be Marché aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves, as Saint-Ouen is not my cup (tho I do enjoy a glass of vin at that dark cafe where the gal does Piaf in total earnestness.) The Metro repair on the line (and my lazy Saturday morning coffee hours) meant I arrived just as everything was being put away. It’s such a N is for Neville who died of ennui feeling! After poking around a bit I tried to salvage the afternoon with Vietnamese lunch at Le Bambou in the 13th, one of two Paris Chinatowns, and missed their lunch kitchen by 5 minutes. Cinq minute! The fellow at the door really did seem désolé. Ah well. Some days it is best to allow the Universe to impose it’s will upon you, rather that the other way around. Clearly it’s time to hunker down and get to editing the beast.

There are two China towns in Paris? Why did no one even tell me about one of them? I want that umbrella.

from what I’ve seen neither are old-school like SF but more moderne like NY. I remember the one in Belleville as splendid, plan to return there on Sunday, will report!
