~aventures du louchette flâneurse: 45ème~

December 29th, 2009

A pair of thirsty kids break up the workday with lunch at the always lovely Le Baratin. We had wanted to try the co-owner’s new Le Chapeau Melon, but food poisoning caused us to cancel our reservation Saturday, and Sunday the same caused the chef to cancel on us. Tant pis! They will remain closed until we have departed, which happens a week from tomorrow. I don’t want to leave, I want to move here. But for now, I will settle for a second lunch at Baratin next week. The three course menu is 16€, making it quite a steal. Tonight, a head of cauliflower for dinner and the grindstone, this is the way we balance.

On our walk up the hill to Belleville we came upon these silver slippers in an antique shop window. Lovely, no?
