It’s been four weeks since I was last in my studio—
a welcomed change after a push to finish a big ol’ manuscript revision.

2 Upon returning, I discovered this nursery web protecting
what appears to be three Marbled Orbweaver egg sacs.

3 Mom rests among them, and will die with the first frost (says interwebs).

4 Beneath her is a graveyard of ant and spider husks, likely including Dad (ditto).
They hatch in spring, and after hanging out while their exoskeletons harden,
the teeny spiders will balloon away.
